F'ing old house owner who thought he was a builder FFS!

    Loved artexing walls... badly!

Took some attached stuff off a wall, chipboard paper & then artex... Aha! I think... easy job, it's all done over paper

Nope, wallpaper disappears to a bad skim job that is coming off too FFS! - why do I start these jobs?

From what I can see (so far!) the original plaster is fine... going to keep pulling off the dodgy skim in the hope it's all fine... I know it won't be but I have to hope

Love it when 'builders' skim over paper...or no nail bits of wood to wallpaper & then hang curtains off it

The place I lived in before had a couple of loose floor tiles that I no nailed down before it was sold

In my defence, we'd pretty much done everything that needed to be done.... including stripping horse hair plaster back to bare walls (I wondered if I would get anthrax from that!)

Have you ever seen wallpaper on a ceiling before?
Bring a tear to a glass eye
Daughter and her brainless boyfriend payed asking price on an old house on first visit so I never got to see it
And ofc the very kind wife offered my decorating services for free, I took a week off to get crack on with it, When I seen what to old fella who had over the decades had the foresight to wallpaper every fucking wall and ceiling!! upstairs and downstairs with something akin to super glue, and not bothered to take down the old when they wanted new up so best guess of about 5 layers I had to shift
It's been 2 and a half years since I started and only done the living room and hallway
    pay peanuts you get monkeys

I certainly have... my old house had the ceilings chipboard papered as a substitute for an artexed ceiling
