    Default phresh filter problems

I got myself a phresh filter around 6 weeks ago and although its doing a great job I keep losing carbon from it, if I knock it I end up with carbon in my hood and I can hear it blow through.

I did the 10 minutes when I got it and to be fair couldn't stop it so fitted it anyway, iv taken it out and sat on the floor if I turn my fan up it blows carbon everywhere still.

    anything I can do?

iv emailed the shop I got it from so hopefully they can suggest something or replace it for me.

It'll be interesting to see what the shop says...

If it's carbon 'dust' that's one thing but if it is carbon granules then that shouldn't happen

Is there no prefilter (the cloth cover for the filter)?

Letting it sit attached to the fan outside to remove any loose partials

If it were me, I'd take it off, take it out the room and stand it on a dust sheet. Give it a few firm but not damaging taps to dislodge as much dust as possible and get the hoover on it from the outside to suck as much as you can OUT of the filter.

Usually these carbon filters come with nice white washable fluffy pre-filter sleeves on the outside to stop cr*p blocking the filter and cr*p falling out the filter.

Every filter I've had loses some dust initially. They get knocked and rocked about during delivery for one thing.
Best to hoover them and get rid of as much debris and dust as you can prior to fitting. Also if you use cool tubes this stuff quickly builds up and cuts down light!
