    Default Netherlands in general

So I'm going to go to Netherlands and I would be interested in how is "the weed law" in Netherlands in general? I'm staying close to Amsterdam so I would like to know how to go about this "legal" weed. I'm staying in Netherlands 4 weeks so I'd like to smoke some during that time My understanding is that norther you go more legal it gets to put it simply. But I don't know if i need some stupid documentation to smoke if I'm not from Netherlands and that is my biggest question.

It is decriminalised rather than legal mate, however, to answer your question more directly:-

If you look young then some form of ID may be required to buy cannabis in a coffee shop (being an old git I've never had a problem ) & there is a 5g limit on what you can buy per visit
It's Not What You Know, It's What You Can Prove

In many of the towns outside of Amsterdam itself, the local bylaws make it impossible for tourists to buy weed in the local cafe's or coffee shops without a local form of identification. You will need to check with locals or the web before. In Amsterdam itself, those coffee shops outside of the main tourist routes do welcome non-residents to purchase from them however if you are keen to consume on site then depending on the location you need to present identification to enter. Die Stud for example have a secure smoking area behind the front of house and it is ID or no entry.

I'm over 20 so age wont be a thing but if there is nationality restrictions that makes it a bit tricky. Well no matter. I'll travel to Amsterdam every few days if it comes to that. I want to take a brake from being "a criminal"

    Thanks for the help guys.

You'll have no trouble in Rotterdam, Haarlem, Ijmuiden and Amsterdam of course.

I believe in the south of the country in Maastricht you have to have a Dutch ID but I'm not aware of other cities where this is enforced. It is for the Mayor of each city to decide the laws apparently

Yip spot on and thanks for listing those major cities that are cool with tourists buying. It is up to each local authority to some degree, but things have been getting more sticky the last while even in Amsterdam the coffee shops are under quiet extreme pressure.

You can google for a map that shows where tours are legal to buy.

Why do growers go to the Dam to smoke?

It's a bit like a porn star finishing work, then going out to pay for a prostitute.

You can't grow all the strains Aspire. It's nice to be able to try different strains before spending months of growing them
