How about using cfls Valentina, you could buy the whole kit or wire them up yourself ( very simple to wire). Keeps the cost down too using them?

A 200w CFL for example will be the same as a 200w HID but with poorer results.

    Much poorer

A 70w HID would probably equal a 200w CFL - To put that in perspective I have 6x 50w bulbs in my kitchen but a 100w bulb for my front room. a 70w HID is only 70% of the energy cost of the light in my front room.

But! It all comes down to the area covered by the light

Are there any friends or family that have a south facing garden?
