I work in liters as there are UK & US gallons, both are different

However, I assume you mean US gallons which is just under 11.5L (3 UK gallon is just over 13.6L)

Advise above is all good, but it depends on what strain of auto your doing. I`ve done some Auto Berry Ryder that grow no bigger than 300mm. Small pot is fine. But I`ve also done other autos (Diesel Berry) that grow to over a meter. If your doing a taller strain, you might want its roots to have some room to spread. You can still use a smaller pot if your prepared to water/feed it more often, but its going have a hard time standing upright and supporting the weight of the buds, when its in full flower. It could get top heavy (especially if you do it right!)

IMO, its best to choose a pot, given the size you expect it to grow to. Check the breeders sales blurb.

I have a couple of beans for big mofo autos. Not quite sure why I got them as the plants will be too big for my tiny grow room!
