My concern with making RSO is the solvent removal. I have ideas about recondensing the vapour at home, but it is all a bit pie in the sky and are just ideas in my head. Whilst you're here, what volume of isopropyl alcohol is needed for how much vegetable matter if we take that route?
I like your idea of having a mini oven in the grow tent. I hadn't thought of that, but was wondering about pressure cookers. That way we can achieve 120 deg C without any oven, but, we have never owned or used a pressure cooker! So that is another thing to find out about.
For us we are in unchartered territories. CBD has helped us a lot and thankfully a little goes a long way, and has given him some quality of life too. If we are going along the growing route, we are looking at making oil by slow cooking the whole plant. We are still researching the recipe, noise and odour control, security and so on.
One woman on youtube, cherryhazemedibles, suggested 125ml coconut oil to quarter ounce of weed, slowly bake that at 100 degrees for 2 hours, then drain into pyrex bowl and decarb in oven at 120 deg C for 30-40 minutes. I know this is her recipe, but in your opinion can the drain be done at the end? It would save one step of the transfer and less oil would be lost.
