    Default Advice please...

    Hi all.

Big Bud/ White Widow fem. 1st grow of my own.
Outdoor,Organic. Supersoil at the bottom and Canna Terra.
    Learned lots.

At the weekend an old friend popped up and said straightaway "You will lose your house if they catch you".

OK. So that made me think. Maybe the Police would take it away and slap my wrist. No lights. 1 plant only....
But what do my local council do if they find out that a plant is being grown on one of their properties?

I have Googled all sorts and come up with nothing.

Anyone know what might happen please?

    Thanks.

I think it depends on council to council but it should be in the small print of your tenancy agreement...

It's definitely a case by case basis, but i wouldn't risk it with a council property. Private landlords are more likely to turn a blind eye, but the council have a legal obligation to take action. Good luck!

My Housing Association lease states that I can be evicted if my home is used for criminal activity. I would think that is similar to a council lease.

This thread has reminded me of this and increased my own paranoia as I have only just checked the lease small print and discovered this. Due to chop in 7 days but may go a few days early.

"criminal activity" is a broad term.. i know of 2 guys that where caught for personal use with a small amount of plants and their housing said nothing, but how would they know unless the police tell them and i personally hope that wouldnt be done for personal use..

It's broad enough for the council to cover any situation.

Neighbours could complain to housing that the police had a van outside your home and were loading stuff into it.

They do not have to act on this clause in the lease. I imagine it varies on where you live. When I lived in London in a tower block the council were well aware that half the neighbourhood were growing etc but saw this as socially acceptable for the location . I think the bottom line here is that you do put your home at risk but the outcome rests with the magistrate when they apply for the eviction notice.
