How hard is the water? & what style of growing are you looking at?

My water is classed as 'hard', it has an EC of 0.5 - it causes me no problems

    Which nutes do you have?

It's only nutes specifically designed for soft water that may have issue, such as Bio Bizz (spit!)

Oh that's where I'm getting confused I been resins loads of threads trying to cover all angles of my Grow before I get started and come to hard and soft waters the impression I got was there were 2 types of nutrients hard and soft and if you had the wrong one it would counteract. I'm getting there slowly lol

Some of the three part mix nutes have one part that is for hard or soft water, but most nutes it doesn't make a difference. If it helps any, I'd rather have hard water than soft water, the micro nutrients in hard water help immensely!

You can soften hard water by adding washing soda (sodium carbonate) but I couldn't tell you if it's safe to use on plants as I've never tried it.

I Wouldn't recommend using it on your plantsa. They would prefer the hard water only. Lol

    A little.

I could only lurk. I had to agree to the rules before posting. As I hadn't broken the rules, I wasn't in a rush to come back and help.

mine is 7.8 from tap and 6.8 r.o during summer , in winter they balance out to 6.5 ,give or take

The cities purposely keep it on alkaline side so acidity dont corrode the pipes ,
