Default I wanna get Skunk-free genetics. Is that possible?

Am I right to think that bad-BO, old-damp-towel smell is THE Skunk smell?

I have been reading Leafly, seed banks as well as vendors, their feedback and reviews, forums online looking for a strain that does not have Skunk somewhere in its heritage, and that has so far been nigh on impossible.

Seedsman's Hash Passion has a review about how it has "no skunk smell" - which I can only take at face value as I am not an expert by ANY means. I don't even know what hash smells like (seriously). But what about the Sativas? Should I expect anything Skunk-ish in the ones that have been crossbred to have a reduced flowering time?

Just to add: I want to steer away from Skunk NOT because of the stuff in the media about how Skunk causes this or that illness. About 20-odd years ago some guy walked by smoking a joint that smelt almost syrupy sweet. If that smell had a colour it would have been green. And that sweetness is one of the aspects that I am after, besides medicinal values.

    Anyone?

Any recommendations for a non-skunky strain?

I've had a good look & it's surprised me that everything seems to have skunk somewhere in its genealogy

Thanks, M_C. Yeah, I have trawled through the net too and I am glad (in a way) that an experienced person has come to the same conclusion.

I am honestly hating that smelly armpit stinking swimming towel smell. No pun intended but it really gets up my nose.

It's like - everything with Critical, Big Bud in there are out. Diesel, Jack Herer, out. So basically, many of the modern multi strain hybrids strains are out.

The Chemdogging will happen eventhough it has Diesel in its lineage, and may be after that I would have changed my mind. Who knows LOL.
