Thread: wiring an ecotechnics evolution fan speed controller

    I cut each wire 2-3 mm shorter left to right so you can do them one at a time. And a good strong peg helped hold the cable while I screwed each down

    Or

    Remove that black gland altogether, it will just unscrew, gives you a bit more space infront of the green connectors. Then feed the gland parts back down the length of the flex and reassemble?

    Its what I had so thought id use it.

    I have got a new 1600w fan heater but the cable is very short.
    My plan was to wire an extension to the controller and plug the heater into this.
    What are your thoughts on that?

    Fine to wire an extension to it. Flex needs to be at least 1.5mm2 - should say on the side of it

    The flex in your pic isnt too big and I wouldnt go smaller.

    See if you can undo that gland if you struggling. Just dont forget to put the cable back through it

    Iv tried they are so tight cant shift em

    They look like they should turn.
    Impossible to get a spanner in I reckon.especially this first one Im struggling with.

    Grab the inside bit with some pliers and twist the threaded outside bit. Wont be that tight as its plastic

    Jus nip maplin tmora jobas a goodin thing is with those connectors you reduce chance of yankin the wire out the terminal connection on the controller an burning out the fuker. Seen few people on here do think happend to sam while back to.
    Na kida peice piss its just wirng cables in 🤣🤣just a bit fiddly lol.doesnt need be to thick cable 0.75mm cable shud do even lesa for the fans. Its heater that needs be little thicker
