    Default RO Filter

Going to buy a new RO Filter for my system, but wondered if there was any better or cheaper?

I've seen the growmax filters in hydro stores and on the website they have a power grow 500 and maxquairum 000 ppm filter. Both have the same output capacity but the maxquarium removes 100% of salts and sediment as opposed to the power grow only removing 95% so assume that's the one to get?

Seems to be quite a lot of different ones online and im assuming i can get one that is the same if not better for cheaper that hasnt got "grow tax" on it

any help to make me understand the differences etc would be appreciated or whether i should just get the growmax

From what I gather for this purpose it is not necessary to remove 100%, I now have one made by finerfilters and water comes out at 0.01 and is also distilled in final stage the system is £80 with all the different fitting and is 100gpd around 340litres a day I think I find it to be more like 250 litres a day on my water supply, I've found a
60/40 mix give me an ec of about 0.3

When I put one in my house, I got a decent unit on eBay, when I was using it to garden, I hooked a line to a float in a 5 gallon bucket so I had or when needed

You going to just be using the RO water or mixing it with your tap water?

50/50 mix would give you an EC of 0.4 plenty good enough for growing in dude.

Mines high like yours, was tempted to buy a filter but sacked it off. Found the right nutes to go with my water and everything has been plain sailing 🖒

I’m intending on using just RO water, I can’t see any benefit in having a background EC made up of unknown quantities of minerals, unless feeding organic surely giving them exact known amounts is better.

I’ve got soft water nutrients and can supplement cal mag.

I just need to know if there’s any difference between the hydroponic market RO filter (growmax) is any different to normal RO filters. And if it’s worth getting the growmax filter with the upgraded filter

Negative. The systems you are comparing would normally be the same, with the exception of the last filter, forget what's it's called but not needed for hydroponics, I did use the last filter when I had a salt water aquarium. I might not know the names but I do know what you are talking about. The flow rate thru the system is the issue.

This is much similar to my system, I recommend ordering replacement filters, as they do require changing.
As stated above a simple float on a reservoir keep me supplied for my garden. I also plumb a line to my live systems to keep the res topped up.
