    Default Silicone

Been reading conflicting opinions on using silicone to increase ph levels. Anyone have advice on it? I'm using a Wilma with 7 plants. Been using silicone as per usual but also using it to increase ph when required. Not had any negative effects so just interested to hear expert opinions on the matter.

    TIA

Some silicone barely touches the ph, others fuck with it loads. What silicone you using?

Not an expert here but everything I have read including the bottle says that silicon must always be added to water first and mixed well before adding other nutes. Balance the ph using ph up and down once all nutes are mixed. Dont try to use nutes to adjust ph as it will throw off the mixing order and ratios. If using multiple nutes check to see if there is a mixing order provided by the manufacturer. I found mine on their website. Silicon first then calmag and then the rest for me. With rizo always being added last when used. Someone smarter than me might chime in and explain why mixing in the wrong order is bad.

Hmm, perhaps I'll just use the silicone as a nute then and just use the ph up and down...I also read about the order of mixing silicone. I've not been doing it, so I will in future.

When does this effing learning curve end? 😄

Never! You’ll get competent, you may even get good at it. But you’ll never be done learning.
