I love these types of threads! Wish I had the DIY wherewithal to attempt some of this stuff but I'd definitely have to sell the house once I was done! Looking forward to the updates as they come 😋

Well my mates in skimming walls and ceilings today and tomorrow, new carpets in a week Wednesday then I can start my build , toying with building box out of flame resistant plaster board , then putting a couple of sliding wardrobe doors in to hide it all , can’t wait to get started just got to get the other things done first

Unless you can get fire resitant plasterboard for cheap, I wouldn't bother, no need for it unless you're planning a fire

All plasterboard is fire retardant. Two layers of 9mm makes a 1hour barrier . I’d use as much fire retardant material as possible. Stay safe stay green 😃🇬🇧

Luckily I’m working on a site where I should be able to get it for free same as most of the materials , it’s surprising how much they waste at the end of a job lol
