Default How to safely upload pictures without being traced or tracked?

    Hello.

I have a couple of threads where I want to upload pictures taken with my mobile phone but I know that there are "hidden" data in pictures that record things like GPS location of where it was taken and other identifying peace's of information.

In my phone I can turn of the location data, but are there other data that I should clean or does it suffice to simply turn of the location data?

I have read about this on the web but that gets rather confusing.

    Regards.

I just turn off location data on the camera & carry on - I actually can't think of a single reason anyone would want any picture with location data included!

Tapatalk does a pretty good job of stripping the metadata before hosting the pics.

Like m_c said just turn off location as I wouldn't even trust tapa with it.

Use an older, non-web-enabled digital camera that can only transfer files via a cable or a card reader.

One thing I quite like with the location is you can sort your photos with it so pics you took on holiday or a day out for instance can automatically be organised and named in a folder

I've found out that altering the picture is supposed to erase any such metadata from the picture, which in my experience isn't exactly true. But when I upload pictures I take them with my phone, transfer them to my computer and then I open it in paint or any suitable software, copy the picture and pastes it into a newly created blank picture, when that new picture is saved it will be completely free of any metadata.

On PC in windows highlight your images either singular or batch, right click to highlight then click on"properties" then "details"... At the bottom of the pane click "remove properties and personal information" a new window will open, in that window click "remove the following properties from this file" then hit the "select all" box click OK and your done...
