Im growing in Coco with the same background EC and exactly the same PH and im not having any issues yet mate and im a noob so it is defo do-able
@M_C , sorry to be a pain in the arse but how did you find the strength of the verve compost & what stage did you start feeding with old timers? If it's already fairly loaded then I'm thinking I could skip the veg nutrients & just use the bloom stuff after about 3-4 weeks from seed. I only do autos so the veg cycle for me is only about 4 weeks from seed.
I found that, as they started to flower, it was a good time to introduce bloom nutes... slowly at first & rising to full strength
I had a bottle of grow but I hardly ever needed to use it...
I'm in east anglia with some of the hardest water in country. I switched to coco and Advanced Nutrients pH perfect cos I was having so many issues and having to use conc. nitric acid to get the pH down. Since using pH perfect has been a breeze. No issues at all.

What makes you think it's the hard water that's causing your issues?
I'm EC 0.6 to 0.7 and PH over 8 straight from the tap.

I'm Ec 0.9 PH 8. I'm about to start using bottled water for my next soil grow.
The bottled water has a PH 7 and Ec 0.3 so hopefully that will help.

Hello growers. Well here I am a few years later with the same ongoing problems. I switched to plant magic soil & old timer bloom in the end. Majority of the grows are the same still though, the auto's get to about day 35 & the leaves start yellowing, then @ day 40 calcium deficiency rust spots on the leaves show up. This last run was the worst ever & 2 of the plants were completely destroyed & never recovered.
One thing I did notice though was that a few grows ago I added magnecal & I did see quite a big improvement. This goes completely against all the advice about adding cal/mag when your water is hard already, but it seemed to improve things for me so I don't know whats going on there ?!
So Im going to add that again this time & see what happens. Im also going to try some canna organic ph down. Ill document the results here & maybe I can get to the bottom of it somehow. Cheers
