    Like tv detector vans?

Was a scam here in the UK a few years back where plod were doing 'tests' on people entering selected pubs. Fancy looking equipment, no arrests as there were no positives.

Why would a biz use something more expensive than a piss test?

Piss tests will only show someone has had THC in a long time frame. If memory recalls, the perspiration in the finger print carries THC markers for around 24 hour.. but newer saliva tests bring that to aound 12 hours... but, blood tests show real time...

Blood testing is harder for most companies to do as it requires a medical person rather than an employee who has done a day course on how to work a machine - but it is the most accurate

Finger print tests, some of them, are made by the folk who make covid lateral flow tests. What was it the kids showed, ribena triggered them?

No reasonable employer could rely on that to dismiss.

    Demand blood test, call sick.

    Many folk just take it

What is the penalty for saying no? I'd just refuse... They technically can't force you here in Canadia and can't dismiss you for refusal.

I think I’ve said this before, but there was much fun to be had when the publishing company I worked for in London floated the idea of random drug tests before somebody pointed out we were Dutch-owned. And a publisher.

If drug testing is in the terms of your contract then, for refusing, you are treat as guilty & dismissed
