18/6 is best mate, just six hours darkness, better to have mid day in the middle as that tends to be the hottest part of the day, 9am off and 3pm on is best, but whatever works for your schedule.

Check the great white for what dose you should use at what stage.

And yes mate, take the stuf that floats and clean it again after you taken it. Thse are just OCD precautions I take and not really nessecary, I just like to make sure everything is perfect. Less chance of bugs

Don't do anything you're unsure of without givin me a shout mate. Any qeustion at all just ask. The only stupid question is one you didn't ask an all that this is how you learn, don't be shy. Rather advise you on keeping them healthy rather than fixing deficeincies. Stay in touch as often as possible

Thanks Macky. Very much appreciated. I assume when you say clean the coco it would similar to how you cleaning rice before cooking (sorry only analogy i could think of haha). swirl it around in bucket of water, pour water out, refill water and continue to do the same thing a few times until you feel its clean. do you then squeeze out a bit of water before putting it in the air pots or do you want it completely laden with water?

Yer like rice lol. But don't squeeze it or pressure it at all. Drainage is fine no need to compact it, it will effect te root growth n shit
