Default Ready to abandon RDWC after 3 years of problems and switch to aeroponics

Think iv finally sprouted my final grey hair and said enough is enough with the RDWC way of growing... started just over 3 years ago after growing with coco for 7 year and never having hardly any problems until I had the bright idea of switching to RDWC.

Got 2 lovely critical kush on the go from seeds roughly 6 weeks in veg and I’m just starting to see brown slightly slimy roots appearing, great! Over the last few years I’ve probably only had 2 or 3 successful grows where I’ve had only slight problems. Most of the time it’s brown roots or some type of nutrients definitions that will completely kill my final outcome. Believe me I have tried everything, beneficial bacteria, sterile rez, bigger pumps, more spray bars, bigger air stones, different nute’s the list goes on (yes I do have a water cooler) I’ve even replaced the system thinking the bad bacteria was in the system...

I would of switched back to coco a while ago but I cant hand water every other day because I have a nosey 10 year old that I don’t want going to school saying his dad gets up in the loft all the time...

So my next option is aeroponics, I’ve been thinking with the roots not sat in water 24/7 do you have less chance of root problems? obviously I would still use my cooler to keep the water temps low and I would use a filter on my pump to stop the misters from clogging.

Any info would be much appreciated

I take it you weren't checking on your RDWC system daily then?

Never needed to mate ph & ec are always fairly stable, I always like a small swing of ph so the plants can up take all nutes available

It’s been a killer mate all the problems but I’ve seen how good things can be when a cycle goes well

Nice read thats was lad. Shame to hear your not gettin on with hydro. !

Get yourself some coco, hand watering aint to bad and if it is getting on yours tits then you can set a dripper system for cheap.

    100litre tank lasts a week
