    Default How long before rootbound?

I transplanted a young plant into the final container (25 Litre)

She has been in veg for over a month now.

I'm growing in soil with 300w Vipar Spectra.

My question is, will she outgrow her pot if I veg her for too long?

I can already see roots forming at the bottom, but they haven't poked through yet

25 litre is a good size.

If you veg for months it will out grow it.

You want your plants to have a nice root ball

i use 25L pots aswell (5G) but i start with my small cups from seed then give them two ish weeks and then transplant into 1G containers for about month or so and then before i put into flower i do last one into my 25L containers im pulling just under a pound dry in a 4x4 tent with 4 plants which i think is fairly good considering my space and setup!

Okay, cheers for the info. I'll veg her for another week or so and put her into flower. Might buy a 30l pot and transplant her just before the switch. Just to be safe. I only have the one plant growing so I might as well take advantage of the space

In my experience becoming ‘root bound’ isn’t a common problem with cannabis and I’ve done some really long veg cycles.

If you start your seedlings in air pruning trays then they will develop many root ends rather than just that main taproot that will circle if you use standard cups. Then when transplanting the plant will divide root growth over all those roots and it will take much longer before it ends up rootbound, that is when using a regular pot.
As Joker already pointed out rootbound isn't an issue in airpots/growbags.

Here is a good example of a plant (not cannabis) raised in a root pruning tray.

She is due for water, so possibly could be just bits of moss from the soil haha
