Ozone has no smell, but it will start oxidising the mucous membranes in your nose, throat & lungs & that is what causes the smell....

If you can 'smell' ozone then it is damaging your respiratory system - get out of the room!
I work within some dangerous places and often come across a gas hydrogen sulphide h2s and they say by time ya smell it ya dead . Same as ozone it’s a odourless gas that has a chemical reaction once it hits mucus membrane and by which time it’s already doing the damage. Safety of our members is priority and as above I’d agree you need to set ya self up with a risk assessment and a safe method of working with the ozone generator. Our health and wellbeing cannot be replaced, be safe stay green 🇬🇧

I have a personal gas monitor for my job and once I went in my room after work and the thing started beeping and flashing. Ozone was above if I remember right 1200 ppm . Unplugged it and vacated the room . Left extraction on full . Never used the ozone generator since . I’m unsure if ya would have used h2s gas at school but sulphur dioxde it self was often used . A room with a higher rate than 800 ppm of h2s gas and ya dead within 5mins
