    Default Is this spider mites,

    Hi Guys,

Is this the start of a spider mite problem ? I can find nothing under the leaves, no webbing or bugs or anything but noticed this white dot this morning and on close up it looks like more smaller white dots ? . Should I get some Amblyseius andersonii now or do you think its nothing to worry about?

    Thanks in advance

Hey Gaz, the first clue to having spidermites is normally small white dots appearing on the lower leaves of the plant. These dots can sometimes be dismissed as maybe splash damage at first, but will show up on all leaves. You will need a loupe to confirm, if you see these dots, pick the leaf off & fully inspect the underside, you may find live adults, or even just eggs, the eggs look like tiny whiteish/clear droplets of water. A small infestation can be dealt with quite easily, larger ones tend to be a lot harder to remove.
Below are some pictures that will help you identify if you have mites, report back asap.
