Water uptake slowed at week 4 of flower??

Hi All

Quick question if I may.

One of my ladies seems to have dramatically reduced her water intake. She looks great and I see no
problems.

She is a purple skunk mass auto at 4 weeks flower. Planted 4th July.

The other five plants drip trays are empty and the water irrigation times have not changed in 10 days!

I don’t think I should be concerned ... but am curious.

Temps and humidity have been in range. Photos from last night in my journal.

This is a fast finisher. It is normal to drink less near the end. Hard to see anything with the LED on but they look great. Just be patient and let them ripen.

So all the other girls are exhibiting similar behaviour.

All grown in coco and perlite.

For the last week the drip trays have been overflowing - and I have cut back from 32 secs every 3 hours back to 20 sec every 3 hours.

They are day 92, started flowering first week of August.

So all the other girls are exhibiting similar behaviour.

For the last week the drip trays have been overflowing - and I have cut back from 32 secs every 3 hours back to 20 sec every 3 hours.

They are day 92, started flowering first week of August.

No need for the multiple water/feeds.....Just flood the pots once daily till you achieve runoff. Don't let the pots sit in the runoff, drain it out and sling it.

Thanks for the reply :-) Very much appreciated.

As I work away from home, I need an automated irrigation system.

The unit has a 99 sec max interval, so I cannot use a one shot flood and drain. (Nor am I around to drain some days!)

My next grow, I will be installing plumbing to allow the removal of excess water by gravity from the grow trays. This will feed a bottom reservoir and out the side of the tent.

This will help will the daily chore of draining the trays - using a child's foam water shooter!

Now I know, I will monitor the excess and adjust the timings on a more regular basis! My first grow was by hand.

I run highly aerated water in coco - and had read that you could not "overwater" the plants? The idea being the highly oxygenated water enables the plant to consume more nutrients?

The irrigation system has failed twice, and damaged my plants through heavy drought! Frustrating, but what can you do when you get dragged away???!

Does anyone know of an electronic weight pad that can be connected to a Raspberry Pi to remote monitor the weight of the plants? Ideally a 4 pad system?

Hmmmm ... time to investigate. Plotted and available online, you could detect when watering has failed!!!.
