Default Seedsman Indoor Contest - Amnesia Fast

    Amnesia has joined the comp!

    Strain: Amnesia Fast
    Date: 09 October 2018
    Day 7 from sowing
    Light/darkness: 18/6

    Tent stats:

Lamp: 2 clusters (out of 4)
    Temp: 26.1 Degrees C
    Humidity: 46%

After the demise of the Deep Blue Auto, and the non-starter that was the CBD Shark Shock, this Amnesia Fast has stepped up to play!!! YAY!!!!

This will be an organic grow so I am seriously looking forward to it. She is in a soil-coco-perlite mix, fed with a very diluted PlantGrow solution, enhanced with some mychorrhizae. She will be potted up in due course, but for now she is in a 10 cm pot.
    Fight for your health.

Thanks, Ben.g. Yeah, the Deep Blue Auto fell over... Whilst the weather is transitioning it is very hard for me to keep a tight rein over the environment. Anyway, the Amnesia Fast is looking healthy and strong, and I can't wait to see her filling my tent!

At the rate things are looking, she is going to have a Kalichakra as a roommate. We shall see.

Awesome. I love the organics. Not sure why I ever switched to chem nutes. Hundreds of dollars in nutes waisted to sit on the shelf until they go bad.

Good luck with this one! Hope the weed gods are smiling for you.

Looks like we are off to a fantastic start!! Half way into week 2 and she's already got her 3-finger leaves going... Amazing.

What is even better news is that the Kalichakra has grown some more, and has shed its shell as well as membrane from within the paper towel. He/she/it has now been potted up and has moved into the tent. This seed is easily 10 years old so I am extremely impressed - fingers crossed he/she/it grows up strong. No photo of the Kali as he/she/it is not a part of the comp. No further signs of life from the 2 Sensi mixes.

    Text only note:

Good news is that the AF is doing well. Leaves are a nice green, strong and healthy looking.

Sad news is that the Kali has given up. It got bigger, then rotted from the inside.

And what is weird is that the auto that was supposed to sprout... has not, but is joined by a volunteer chilli. So should I keep that...?

LOL volunteer chilli. Shame the chilli comp has finished.

Chilli's take ages to grow. Get like 3 auto grows in the time it takes them

Awww man... yeah, that's the problem! Chances are the chilli will get relegated to the windowsill later on, then come next year, it gets to sit outside under the Big Halide in the sky.

    Text only note:

Temps are good but humidity is low. Plants doing okay. Watered with plain water at room temperature. I can't wait for her to get bigger then pot up. Will she finish by the end of the year??

Sowed 2 more Sensi indoor mix last night. They sank within 12 hours of being in water and this morning one shell has popped.

Happy to say that the AF is doing well. She could look a bit darker so I fed her diluted PlantGrow with water, and a few pinches of fish-blood-and-bone.

Seriously, I am so far loving NOT having to mix nutes, and I don't even do hydro! Perhaps what I need is a water bottle that is easier to pour in powder nutes and mix? May be...

Temps are okay though I would prefer for the tent to be warmer.

And she is doing pretty darn well for the low RH%. Perhaps had the temps been higher she would show a false-positive for deficiencies? Hard to say but to get the chop done before the end of the year, she's got to run fast!

The big pot is set and I have added mycorrhizae in there and keeping it watered and moist so it is ready for potting up as soon as she is ready.

One of the Sensi mix is big enough for potting, and has now moved into the tent. I am calling this one "Plan B". His/her/its seed shell is still attached but her pot is covered in cling film (saran wrap) so fingers crossed she does not give up. Note to self, the Sensis do seem to take long to pop.

No idea Vale, but looking at size yes she seems to have been very close to the light, because just it has not been stretched...

Thanks, J Trich. She is approximately 50 cm from the light. Is that "close"? I am using LED lamp.

Thanks, J Trich, but if my plant is too far away, and still she is not stretching...

What is making most of my plants not gain height?

This is an extra update as so much happens during the early weeks. She is also almost ready for topping so I wanted to share photos before she gets to meet the blade, probably on Saturday's update.

The yellowing of the first one-finger leaves is unexpected. There is a fair bit of nutrients in the soil so in case this is a lock out, I gave her plain water. As this is an organic grow, I am refraining from using chemical fertilisers unless I absolutely must.

Other than that she is doing fine, and getting potted up in the next couple of weeks.

yeah, interesting question.. i never have had plants unstreched, on the contrary, my plants tend to stretch a lot.. i think being a nutes question? i never give anything up to last week veg, so always running in the low edge feed...

    Thanks, J Trich!

That's a mystery then! I guess it is my blue-purple lamp. None of my plants have been stretchy, only the Ogre really stretched, and the 2 that got pushed into the corners.

The nutrients are organic this time, solid as well as liquid, so there should be plenty in the soil. I will be repotting her so it will all be okay soon.

So after suffering a not insignificant IT glitch, I am back with an update on the Amnesia Fast. Not quite sure what to name her and she has not yet given me a name to call her.

She is doing just about Okay, though I am puzzled by the yellowing leaves. She can not be low on Nitrogen. She has had fish-blood-bone practically dumped on her, and she is getting that Plantgrow posh compost tea, so I think the dryness is what is causing the confusion.

The relatively "low" temperatures is a slight worry for me. I prefer for them to get 25 deg C and above, rather than 20+, but I guess you run with what you can get!

I can't begin to describe how say it is to just throw some high N feed at her and be done with it, but that would deviate from the organic-ness of this grow and I want to keep it organic! One thing that I have noticed is how much she smells! She is tiny but is smelling like a plant much bigger! I shall be re-potting her soon into the big pot, but that would be next week.

Her room-mates are coming on slow, but whatever, as long as she delivers we would be okay. Can't wait for her to get bigger so I can flip to 12/12!!!

The biggest issue is the temperatures. I would like to keep her above 25 deg C but besides an actual mini oil heater, I can't see how that is gonna work!
