Are these reliable for checking soil PH? For £20, I'm not hopeful but anyone know much about them?

Any decent soil will tell you it's PH on the bag.... £20 saved
It's Not What You Know, It's What You Can Prove
I mean more for during a grow.
I was away for a couple of weeks and I've run into what I believe is a PH issue. I checked the soil with a tester and I got a reading of 5.0. I flushed them 3-4x pot size last night and now they're reading 6.5.
Just not sure how accurate they are?
The only real way to PH test soil is with a slurry test, any other way is wildly inaccurate
I tried one of those, it was like a random number generator every time I put it in the soil
Have you though of doing it old school, with not litmus papers, but pH paper? they come in rolls like ribbons, or, like those roach paper booklets. Just look up "pH paper" in pictures online and you will see. They are a darker pastel amber in colour, and have a texture like thin blotting paper.
Stick that in whatever you want to test and they give you a colour instantly, then just match that against the colour chart to find out the pH.
They don't give a number to one decimal place, but then there is no faffing about with calibrating or cleaning.
