Organic has a superior taste but coco has a superior yield....

Just converted my RDWC (pissed off with root rot) to Capn Style.

Using Rockwool Mini cubes (croutons). So far I am loving them, so easy to work with and they look like they will produce a great problem free root mass. Time will tell!!

Ok so even if going with soil there can be a big difference between using store bought and creating your own living soil

Tbh i have grown in compost, coco, and directly in the soil outside and used additives and then used none just plain water when needed in the mud outside. Non organic or organic is really no difference between them. The main things are lighting, strain choice and the weather gods that affect the flavour and quality. Personally for ease and yield indoors i find coco my preferred medium.

To take the argument to the extreme, how many people these days cook a Sunday roast from scratch - but they all love one!

Oakham, as a village/town, does exist but the M&S 'corn fed Oakham chickens' are just a trade marked thing... the same as many things are in Asda, Sainsburys, Tesco, Lidl & Aldi, there's no getting around that all supermarkets are telling half truths to sell their products (albeit under trade marked names - to keep the right side of the law) - most of it is processed shite... but do you not remember when things like Melton Mowbray pork pies (and the like) became protected under European law as pork pies made around the world were calling themselves Melton Mowbray pork pies? Nothing more than manufacturers lieing to heir customers... and nothing seems to have changed

It's all about time & effort... the same with growing. Many people would prefer to just tip a measured amount from a bottle than do the homework to amend soil correctly - a shame but there it is

Going over my allotment in a minute and going pull up some spuds i guess you would class them as organic as nothing as been added but a little comfry mulch. I wonder if they will taste much different to the super markets i doubt it but its nice to now they are your own home grown. To me growing your own is a pleasure and satisfying that its yours and nurtured by you.
