I was initially extracting into the loft and I struggled with temps quite a bit so had to get it sorted fast. You'll find it's the little things which cause the biggest headaches lol.
Mon the sleepless nights thinking about your setup
This is ok as long as there is no appliance/gas fire etc. attatched to the chimney

Well I'm assuming he lives in my house obviously
I also considered a roof tile vent but I couldn't be arsed with that in the end and the eaves in my loft aren't really accessible.
    Let's get it on!

Removing bricks from eaves not a good idea either, if ever you get issues with guttering, thats where the water will come in.

Tile vent or unused chimney stack

Agree with AND mate dont mess with the eaves I'm a roofer to trade and trust me it will end up a headache. Tile vents your best option and will just look like an extractor vent for a bathroom so not as suspicious from the air. If you need help fitting it I can do my best to give you direction.

Vent wise I’m planning to use the bathroom extractor fan vent as the exhaust as the fan in there hasn’t worked for years anyway, buts it’s only 4”. I’m not keen on touching anything structural for obvious reasons. I’m hoping getting rid of the warm air should keep temps down. I’ll cut the holes in the sheets or bodge it with the black n white. Not sure yet

Sounds like I’ve been let down on getting power up there this weekend 🙈. Hole in the ceiling and an extension lead for now then 😂

Thanks for all the input guys giving me loads more ideas

    Subbed for this for sure.

Just a thought buddy, have you thought about flattening the top instead of going right up to a point?

Might make mounting lights filters etc a touch easier, and I would also assume that hot stale air could get trapped right at the point as if more difficult to get air flow in tight spaces.....I'm no expert by any stretch just how I would construct it 👍

That’s literally what I was going to do with the top point, wanna seal it all first but I’ve the batten waiting to go. I’ve a good idea how I’m going to set her up inside so hopefully it’ll just be the light and filter at that level. I’ll leave the fan outside or in one of the bottom corners
