Default What causes different Marijuana highs

If THC is the main compound that gets you high why is it a sativa high different to a indica high.
Is it the combination and mix of other compounds like CBD etc that alters the effects .

If So, would pure sativa THC give exactly the same high as indica THC .

    👍

Sativas are more a mind high whereas indicas give you a body high.

This is what I've read. Go sativa if you want to enhance creativity, and indica if you want to conk out on the couch haha

the reason is what % is each Cannabinoid and there precursors

    THCA (Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinolic acid)
    CBGA (Cannabigerolic acid)
    CBDA (Cannabidiolic acid)
    CBCA (Cannabichromenenic acid)
    CBGVA (Cannabigerovarinic acid)
    THCVA (Tetrahydrocanabivarinic acid)
    CBDVA (Cannabidivarinic acid)
    CBCVA (Cannabichromevarinic acid)

those are just the main 8, think theres 100's of different Cannabinoids if i remember

Great answer. I have read that the terpines change the effect as well.

This ignors the distinct differences achieved with each strain that are a result of their specific lineage and chemical makeup. Different strains have different percentages of each cannabinoid and terpine. The different combinations have slight differences that can be night and day for some. I have difficulty eating and sleeping. Of the many strains I have tried only 30% really get me eating heavy and 5% give me a good nights sleep.

Ya obviously it's an oversimplification and just general guidance It's also outdated when you look at the multitude of different phenotypes.

On the west coast a lot of the shops give you lists of major effects for everything they sell and break stuff into day vs night use.

I check into the effects before I get seeds.

So are we saying , THC alone gives the same effect regardless of strain but it’s the actual mix of other cannabinoids that gives you the various types of highs .
