Just been reading your build mate. I started with black and white stapled to the joists. They ripped off in a matter of minutes. Then I screwed batton lengths down to hold it back and on a warm evening it would look like a hot air balloon. In the end I used thin ply maybe 4mm and painted it flat white. Then caulk or ct1 silicone in the gaps. It’ll be super sealed then. Do that from the off if I would it will save you lots of headaches. Any time I screwed into the joists I made sure it was only with 3/4” screws or smaller not to mess with it’s strength. If I were you I’d use the full space available to you. I managed 4 lovely plants off this setup. If you can, vent into the chimney. You should be able to get a brick or two out to access the liner. That will stop your whooshing sound and look acceptable on a flir camera. Sorry to take so long to reply I ain’t been on in a while mate. Best of luck.

I have just started growing and have also ended up in the loft. Seeing this I had to sign up and comment as I have done pretty much the same set up. I have had to use what I have had unlike you being able to buy so many gadgets. So jealous lol. Anyways I also have used kingspan but ran out so doubled up some 25mm polystyrene boards at the front section. Yours seems to have more head room. The length of mine in 1700mm height 1300mm and width is 1100mm. I'm running a 240w 3000k 660nm quantum board with a oil radiator a few fans , ram 4inch inline fan and filter. Here are a couple of pics. Also I have ran my outtake fan into my water tank in the loft . Hot air into the top of tank stops any worry of condensation and mild in the loft as it hits the lid and cools in there. That way there is no chance of heat signals coming out of a tile or something else in the roof.

Lovely job mate fair play. I wish I had that tank I was paranoid as fuck venting to the open attic haha. With regards to the gadgets it became my baby and I become obsessed a bit. Stil got my kit. I’m not ruling out a future grow. Won’t be in the attic next time though. It’s hard to control your room temp and humidity. And the fan noise is horrendous. I’m sure you’d agree.
