Default To remove leaves or not to remove leaves...that is the question!

    High all!

I have done some reading on defoliation or leaf removal and it just gets me more confused. I do remove some ?unhealthy? leaves but not enough to call it defoliation I guess.

What is your opinion? Do you think I should remove a lot of leaves on this girl to increase yield?

I'm no expert, but even experts argue on this question. Personally, after reading a lot on the talk, I tend to mostly tuck. I do snip a few leaves if I think they cause air circulation issues or if they get too close to side lights (I use cfls). A few every now and then doesn't seem to slow em down. Some people lollipop, others argue the leaves are there for a reason and to wait till they're ready to fall off before plucking em. I go for the latter.

It?s so hard to make a decision.. I couldn?t find a comparison test between two identical strains to understand the benefits in terms of yield.

I think it could help if there is mold risk but thats not my case

How do you tuck the leaves away? I tried but it they don?t really stay tucked for long

Joker da smoker told me to wait until after stretch to do any lollipopping.

My general rule is to remove unhealthy leaves through groth cycle. Also I decided against a true bottom 1/3 lollipop. I encourage the lower branches to the canopy. If they make it, they stay, if not, I prune a little at a time.

The pruning in stages serves 2 purposes. 1st it stresses the plants less. 2nd, I get to sample the immature buds.
