Peobably better to have more strips closer together rather than removing some as you'll have more power available if you want it and it should be a touch more efficient to produce the same amount of light by dimming rather than removing.
That's a good point... with the added height, having them a bit closer together may not be such a bad thing. Dying to take it out and start measuring up but my 3 plants under it currently wouldn't be too pleased lol.

Having issues finding a tent that's the ideal size so my original idea of putting a tent in a cupboard is hitting a wall. I'm considering a hybrid lol... buy a cheap tent and cut out the front side with the door to staple in and use in a cupboard. I'm not confident I can build a slick light proof set of doors so would be nice to open up to a 2nd zipped opening.

I want to say that a light proof door is easy but I currently have a whole rainbow coming out my fridge so it would be a bit hypocritical to say that

I'm also no use on the light proof doors on anything that size but the strips closer together won't be an issue at all - the diodes will still be further apart between strips than they are along the strip after all. My strips aren't far off touching each other.

Absolutely. The curve is proportional to the wavelength

Got my new cupboard... think I'm gonna need to shave 10cm off on the light panel somehow. Options I'm considering are taking off two strips and cutting off the excess metal, and then either buying a driver and having a 2 strip frame stuck in the back of the wardrobe horizontally to give a bit of side lighting, or somehow adding to the cut frame so I have 2 vertical strips attached and running down the back.

Or I just store the spare 2 strips in case any of the others ever need replacing. Decisions decisions

Cheers dude, I'm starting another as soon as the flat bar is delivered. Smaller this time for a veg cabinet
