Thread: I.D. these little black bugs?

Default I.D. these little black bugs?

I've recently had mites and fungus gnats, I think I'm just about getting it under control.
But I've just noticed a third bug, I keep seeing them crawl across the tent floor, towards the front door...
Initially thought they were fungus gnats that couldn't fly, but upon closer inspection, they seem to be something different, and I can't see them on any 'growing pests' articles.
They're about the size of half of a small ant.
    Thanks

You have to drench your medium with some imidacloprid diluted mate, google it. I haven't treated these before, so not sure of the exact procedure, but they're are root aphids I think, and imidacloprid seems the be the best option in killing them and any other soil dwelling parasites

Pity you couldn't get a closer pic but in my opinion it looks a lot like a root aphid or maybe baby vine weevil, i had these last grow "vine weevils" and neem oil helped get rid though i had to treat the medium with nematodes, good luck brother, G'.

    This is a root aphid

They look a little like vine weevils mate, but vine weevils are much bigger.

Cheers for the advice, yeah my camera seems to flid out when I try to take a real close up.
Think you must be right about them being Aphids.

I've been using neem oil as suggested above, as part of IPM plan, and I started drenching the soil with Bti as well, which seems to be really fucking with fungus gnats, they fly out of the soil, and land randomly on the tent walls to die.
Some of them are flying straight up onto the hot light bulb, and leaving a gross 'burnt fly' smell that's a bit like burnt milk.

Looking into imidacloprid now, cheers Mack.
Got the feeling I'm ultimately gonna finish this grow, chuck all the coco away, clean the tent, and just start fresh...

    Thanks as always !
