Default Quantum Board ISH 265 pro equivelant to 500w hps! Really?

    Hi,

Just had a look at the ISH265 pro Quantum Boards (£220) on the Invisible Sun website and sent a message - they say 1gpw is minimum. 1.3gpw is average for users and that it's a 500w equivalent - can anyone back this up? 500g/w to 650g/w seems a bit optimistic to me in an 80x80 tent LOL

I've had a look at a load of grows on here searching Quantum Boards, but the best I've seen is .5g/w ish - £220 is a lot of money, I'd be happy with 250g lol but is it worth the extra?

Also, seeing as how my tent is square, wouldn't a square 'light' be better for coverage?

Can't wait to hear your thoughts and see your photos

0.5g/watt is cfl territory. I've read a few diaries and most QBs seem to give around 1.3 I reckon. Cheaper leccy bills too

Thanks for the quick reply Silk

I'm just trying to be realistic. It's easy to say 1g/w but the majority of growers aren't hitting that (sorry guys), I don't want to set myself up for failure I'd be more than happy with 250g but I've struggled to find any BIG results in the search. If you've got any links that would be great, I'll pop over to the diary threads and have a look

Hi Joker, fancy a bacon butty? LOL

yea That's what I thought and run a dimmable ballast, but some say if you turn the ballast down you're messing with the wavelengths and all that man

Using an led would also mean I didn't have to drill into my outside wall to keep the temps down - and it's getting cold out there bbbrrrrrrrr

with led I could put a heater in there for temps and just run 'house' air with a filter?

Lots to learn and lots to play with LOL

ermmm wouldnt say no to one mukka but on me diet pmsl probs most random thing i have been asked on here in while lmaooooo

yea i use dimi but thats only so i can run different bulbs through it,i dont dim bulbs matey.

you need be extracting out of the room ideally, intake can just be air from room the tent in regardless of lights used

thing is if you need run heater on 24.7 with led then its just counter productive for "the cost saving" imo. these winter months are the best time to run hps, then led makes more sense for sure in the summer heatwaves

Lads lads lads let's not get all anti here.

If you grow in a house then you won't need a heater, unless you have to turn off the heating to pay for the hps lol

Just imagine using a light that makes light well and a heater that makes heat well.

Or just use a light thats better at making heat than light.

    Each to their own

If you do what you always did you well get what you always got

i grow in house but still need heater for lights off, not every1 leaves there heating on 24.7 or is home all day everyday.
now growin in attic be even worse if its not proper kitted out,

here what hps will always provide wall to wall buds with deep light penetration

what ever you choose you will get bud, its all about the bud mon

I'd love to see you do that again with led mate, once bitten forever smitten.

Once lights off I think we all need a heater.

What I've learned is you got to set up your grow room completely differently for winter and summer with led where you might get away with leaving same with hps
