Default Buds not fattening please diagnose leaf colour

Hello all, growing RDWC, just into 7th week with a 9-10 week strain. Feeding at 1.6 (background 0.2) PH 5.7. Room humidity is quite low mid twenties mid thirties lights on fifties lights off. I did have PH problems dropping but sorted it out quite quickly. 6oow HPS 18 inch above canopy.

The buds are just not fattening, fan leaves are dry and a little brittle and look terrible. Any ideas?

Yeah your way too high then with your background 1.0 will be plenty...Do what Trex has suggested drain and flush rez, refill and adjust the ph to 6.0 no feed and leave it for 24hrs...Drain and refill after that Ec @ 1.0 and pH @ 6.0..

    Regards BL

Thanks Lads, I have just changed 70 litres with plain water PH now 6 and ec 1,2 I'm off out so will drain in the morning and do as advised. They haven't been drinking as much for a few days and leaves feel dry and brittle, so I suppose it is all starting to make sense, I'm feeding to high.

Humidity is far too low mate. Have you no way of increasing it? With the high temps caused by the hps and low humidity I bet the plants are having issues with efficient transpiration, probably not transpiring much at all which means not feeding or growing.

When you do things right, people wont be sure you've done anything at all.

Yeah I suspected too low humidity when you posted on my diary, but seeing them 100% confirms it.

Really need to bring that RH up, the stomata will be closed at those levels to protect the plant from losing too much water too quickly. Meaning little to no growth.

At week 5 I would recommend nearer 45% humidity day and night.
