    Default Wich RDWC SETUP???

    Hi all,

Im currently thinking of swapping to a RDWC setup from soil, I’m by no means en expert and have only done a hand full of grows. And have no experience and very little knowledge about rdwc.

Firstly I’d like to know if going this way will really show improvement in yeald compared to soil.

And secondly and advice on any setups that are available that won’t cost the earth.

    Any other advice is welcome

    Thanks in advance.

I jumped into the deep end mate and started on RDWC. I only have a little experience but it is best to save up and go for a system with the larger pipe work. I bought the iws rdwc 4 pot system recirculating only with 25mm pipe work and at least 4 or 5 times each grow the pipes block no matter what I do. If I was able to start again I would but the rush dwc system mate especially for the money as well it’s a lot cheaper than the alien pro or the daddy of all the current culture system. Good luck which ever you choose mate

Don’t do it mate lol that size of pipework will block, and your gonna have to get into the room and get your hands into those pots and unblock them at least 4 times throughout the grow mate

I got the 8 pot rdwc alien system with 32 litre buckets and twin pipe work on each bucket and have only had one blockage in a year. I can see it happening more with the single pipework on that system as others have said. Bit expensive but well worth it I’d say.

I thought that the system I posted was cheap compared to others,

Is that all it is then making sure the pipe work is big enough ?

What else is important with these all in one set ups ?

Yeah the one you posted was quite a cheap version , I meant the alien one is more than double the price for their similar system and 4 times the price for the pro system with big pipe work. The one I have got uses 2 lots of 25mm pipework so may reduce blackages that way.
You’ll also need a chiller that’s suitable sized for how much water you have in your set up. They can be quite pricey to.

I think before you go down that road anyway you need to understand about growing with ec and ph monitoring etc which I don’t lol.

But I do like jokers system which he did himself making his own drippers etc. But it is to tempting to just buy a plug and play that you can add to.

Yeah there’s a lot of reading to be done before you jump in to hydro !
But then once you learnt it it’s simple i wouldn’t have a clue how to grow in soil
Good luck whatever you choose mate
