I think it's more a case of not seeing this as a viable grow TBH

No offence meant but the lighting is just insufficient for your expectations. As a rule of thumb, with HPS it's 100w min per plant & CFL isn't as good as HPS

Wow viable really? Ppl on this very site grow in much smaller space, less lighting, less care I can keep going. Actually I took the same exact setup from a user here..

And I asked for advice. You seem like your in a position to do so. I'm all ears..

    Hi mate

I think M_C has given you the best advice. Those lights arent going to be worthwhile.

Have a look in the some of the led diaries for best route forward, you need more power density.

Hey there! Thanks for checking in! OK so more lights? Done! At this stage of my grow experience cfls work best. I will however look into led and possible invest soon. Would another 3 lights of same watt be sufficient?

You will need 150-175w real watts of them. Too much heat in that space im afraid.

I have grown from seed 12/12. 1 oz in 3.8 liters soil consistently. I did not see any difference from 2 weeks of 18/6. The plant starts to flower when it is ready and not 2 weeks from flip. The difference is that durring the 12 hours on I give maximum PAR and Lumens. With small CFL's I expect you will get smaller and fluffier results but good smokeable weed. Just not much of it. More lights = more flowers. With small CFL you need to have lights all around the plants and exhaust at the top to remove the heat and intake at bottom to bring in fresh air.

You need to constantly adjust the lights to keep them almost but not touching the plants.

No filter? I take out 1 plant to photograph and I can smell it down the street. Literally.

You can get good results from CFLS and not a lot of light. I did a grow similar to this a while back. Garden center soil, no monitoring equipment , no tent etc https://www.thctalk.com/cannabis-foru...ery-minimalist

However i would say that anything less than 100w of CFL is simply not going to produce bud. Maybe a couple of grams, but for the sake of an extra light or two that could be a couple of oz

If you are going to stick with the small space grow, get yourself some auto seeds. They will grow and flower in 24/0 or 20/4 etc. No need to fliplgihts. And autos generally stay smaller. They are also very quick to harvest. Usually 70 days from seed.

Just thinking out loud... Are the big dual spectrum cfls better in terms of spectrum for growing? They're a bit chunky tho. I had em before I invested in LEDs.

I find they are a waste. Dedicated blue/red bulbs are better
