Default Anyone vaping anything other than cannabis? Aromatic herbs and such?

I'm currently waiting on the arrival of the Arizer Air 2 that I ordered and it comes with a pack of lavender which got me thinking.

Does anyone here vape aromatic herbs and if so which ones?
Perhaps even plants that are not considered aromatic herbs? Spinach maybe?

Ow and if any of the admins knows a better place for this on the forum feel free to move it there.

I haven't thought about it until now but it sounds like a good idea. I wonder if adding things like fruit zests to Cannabis would work.

Well they say terpenes influence the effect and terpenes aren't exactly cannabis specific but are found in loads of things.
Perhaps that flavor chamber of the Davinci IQ isn't such a crazy idea after all.

BEST LEGAL HERBS TO VAPORIZE, copied from Zamnesia website
Top 15 Best Legal Herbs To Vaporize

You can vape a whole range of herbs other than cannabis. Sure, most likely you didn‘t plan on using your vaporizer for aromatherapy, but actually there‘s a number of pleasant herbs worth checking out. While there‘s nothing quite like cannabis, vaporising legal herbs can be a delightful aromatic experience, and many of them actually do have psychoactive effects, although rather on the mild side.

All of the following herbs are completely legal and can be easily found in most herbal shops. Many of them have long been used by herbal practitioners for their medicinal properties. In addition to vaping them alone, they make for a great addition to a bowl of cannabis.

    1. DAMIANA: 190 °C
    Turnera afrodisiaca
The plant is native to Mexico and will add a strong aromatic taste to your blend. According to anecdotal reports Damiana can induce a mild buzz, but nothing near that of cannabis. In herbal medicine, Damiana is often used to strengthen the nervous system, help with urinary infections, reduce menstrual cramps and act as an anti-depressant. It is also thought to act as an aphrodisiac, and has been shown to increase sexual activity in both male and female rats. You can also find a delicious Damiana recipe at our blog.

    2. CATNIP: 100 - 150 °C
    Nepeta Cataria
Catnip is the herb that makes cats wallow in pleasure. Unfortunately, it doesn‘t do that to humans, but it‘s still said to induce a relaxing and comfortable buzz by itself. It is perfectly legal and is sold fresh in most garden stores.

    3. VALERIAN: 235 °C
    Valeriana Officinalis
Valerian is well known sedating herb that has helped many conquer sleepless nights. The vaporisation of valerian is believed to induce much stronger effects than taking it in pill form or as a tincture. It mixes very well with lemon balm and other sedative herbs such as hops, passion flower, skullcap, etc.

    4. PASSION FLOWER: 154 °C
    Passiflora Incarnata
Passionflower can be found growing naturally in parts of North America, and is highly prized for its sedative qualities. When vaporized it can add tranquillizing and slightly sedated quality to the experience.

    5. LAVENDER: 130 °C
    Lavandula Angustifolia
Lavender is probably the most famous aromatic herb. It has a great taste and smell, and is thought to have some very beneficial therapeutic properties1. It is said to stimulate blood flow, both antiseptic and antibacterial, act as an anti-depressant, a carminative and a muscle relaxant. Even if you are not interested in these properties, just the aroma itself make it a worthy addition to a herbal mix.

    6. LEMON BALM: 142 °C
    Melissa Officinalis
Among fans of aromatherapy, lemon balm is well known for its great taste/smell and calming effects. Lemon balm is said to relax the nervous system and to promote sleep, relieve headaches and increase blood circulation. Studies have shown that its calming nature is enhanced when mixed with other herbs such as hops, valerian and chamomile.

    7. ST JOHN’S WORT: 100 – 150 °C
    Hypericum Perforatum
St John’s Wort is a natural anti-depressant, which has made it a very popular herb in recent years. Vaporising is an effective way to consume it, and has been reported to increase its sedative qualities. That being said, St John’s wort isn't for everyone. Studies show2 that it can decrease the effectiveness of the birth control pill, and can have negative interactions when mixed with certain classes of drugs, including antiretrovirals, anticancer agents, and SSRIs. Consult your doctor before mixing your prescription with St John’s wort.

    8. CHAMOMILE: 190 °C
    Matricaria Chamomilla
Growing wild across Europe and West Asia, Chamomile is traditionally taken orally to ease indigestion. However, when vaporised it is said to act as a relaxant, promoting sleep and boosting the immune system. It‘s a perfect addition to mixes with other relaxing herbs.

    9. HOPS: 154 °C
    Humulus Lupulus
Most commonly associated with the brewing of beer, hops can be a great addition to a vape blend. Many have reported that the vaporising of hops has induced both a mildly euphoric and sedative effect, making it a good addition to a cannabis blend. The flavour is earthy, spicy and sweet. Many users will add it to all of their blends, no matter what they are vaporising, just for the flavour.

    10. GREEN TEA: 178 °C
    Camellia Sinensis
Vaporising green tea is said to cause a very stimulating buzz, as caffeine is efficiently vaporised off the plant. If you want a more subtle, soothing experience, then slightly lower temperatures should be used. The buzz gained is reported to be less than if you had an equivalent cup of coffee but the onset is much faster.

    11. WHITE SAGE: 190 °C
    Salvia Apiana
Sage has a nice minty like flavour and has antiseptic and estrogenic effects. The effects are said to be good at treating the symptoms of a cold, such as relieving the severity of a sore throat.

    12. YERBA MATE: 150 - 190 °C
    Ilex Paraguariensis
Also known as Mate Tea, this energising plant vaporises best at around 190 degrees Celsius. Much like green tea, it is used by itself or as part of a mix to act as a stimulant, inducing a pleasant and energising buzz. Read more about the botanical brother of Yerba Mate, Guayasa.

    13. CALEA ZACATECHICHI: 190 °C
    Calea Ternifolia
Known as the “Dream Herb”, Calea zacatechichi is traditionally used as an aid to induce and enhance lucid dreams. It‘s been described to induce a very sedated and slightly hallucinogenic high when vaporised, a high that is more potent than induced by other forms of taking it. It has the potential to help you drift off to sleep and explore your dreams.

    14. PEPPERMINT: 166 °C
    Mentha Piperita
Peppermint can be found growing pretty much anywhere in Europe and is distinguished for its unique minty taste. The effects of peppermint relieve muscle spasms and act as an antiseptic. And of course, it taste very refreshing.

    15. THYME: 190 °C
    Thymus Vulgaris
Thyme has a great taste that is said to complement well with marijuana. It does create a buzz of its own. In fact, we heard that in combination with cannabis, it can make you save bud as it increases its effect. Traditionally, the herb is thought to relieve hypertensive conditions and gastric complaints.

And here is an article from vaping360, I took the liberty to change the temperature to Celsius:

Top 20 aromatic herbs that you could vaporize
    1. Basil: A commonly used herb for seasoning food is also used by people to treat cold and digestive symptoms in addition to improving their mood. Vaping basil is ideal for in the morning and afternoon. It contains linalool which is a terpene also found in various cannabis strains. It vaporizes nicely at 130° C.

    2. Blue lotus: Also known as the water lily or sacred blue lily, this herb contains the alkaloid aporphine which is considered to be psychoactive. Vaping blue lotus produces a mildly sedative effect. Keep in mind that it is illegal to possess in certain countries like Poland, Russia and Latvia. Blue lotus vaporizes best at 125° C.

    3. Catnip: Believe it or not, mulungu catnip has been historically used (by humans) in China and Europe for various health ailments. Catnip is said to produce relaxing and mildly euphoric effects when vaped. It is also believed to elevate mood and in extreme cases induce the giggles like cannabis. Its recommended temperature for vaping is 150° C.

    4. Chamomile: One of the more popular herbs used for aromatherapy has always been chamomile for its relaxing properties. Some people use it to help them calm down and fall asleep. It should be vaped at 125° C.

    5. Coffee: Yup, even coffee beans can be vaped. They contain caffeine which is a known stimulant and are known for their robust aroma. Coffee is vaped as a pick-me-up, or as an alternative to drinking it. The suggested temp for vaping coffee is 200° C.

    6. Eucalyptus: This herb originates from Australia and is said to help with stress and contains antibacterial properties. Eucalyptus has also been used to treat colds, flus and lung infection. In addition to its purported benefits, it also gives off a pleasant scent. Eucalyptus vaporizes best at 130° C.

    7. Green tea: This traditional herb with its roots in Chinese culture can also be vaped. Like coffee, green tea contains caffeine which is said to help with minor aches and depression. When vaped, green tea releases more caffeine than drinking it, which supposedly provides a burst of energy. It vapes well at 185° C.

    8. Hemp: The male version of the cannabis plant known as hemp, is legal in most states and although non-psychoactive it still contains cannabinoids found in CBD oil. It’s typically sold as industrial hemp but now companies are selling legal hemp specifically for vaping and smoking. It vaporizes best between 193 to 204° C.

    9. Hibiscus: Known for its complex aroma and taste, hibiscus is most commonly used for making tea. It contains flavonoids that supposedly boost metabolism and helps with anxiety. Vaping it does not produce caffeine but it contains various antioxidants and vitamin C. The suggested temp for hibiscus is 175° C.

    10. Hops: Best known for being the main ingredient in beer, hops when vaped can actually produce a mild euphoric effect. There are many different types of hops, each with their own flavor profile, but they vaporize best at 200° C.

    11. Lavender: This herb has a sweet and floral smell that is popular for its calming effect. Lavender has been vaped for pain relief and to help with insomnia. It is also said to have antibacterial properties. Lavender vaporizes well at 125° C.

    12. Lemon Balm: People with gut issues and internal wounds have used lemon balm for healing. It has also been said to relax muscles, elevate mood and improve sleeping patterns. Lemon balm should be vaped at 142° C.

    13. Passion flower: Another herb utilized for its calming properties, passion flower offers a sedative effect when vaped. It has been used for pain management and addiction treatment. Passion flower vaporizes best at 150° C.

    14. Peppermint: Known for its fresh aroma and cooling taste, peppermint has been suggested to offer relief to people suffering from colds and body aches. It’s said to deliver an energy boost similar to caffeine and it vaporizes at 170° C.

    15. Thyme: This herb is typically used for culinary applications but has also been vaped by people to treat chest colds. It has also been said to contain antibacterial properties. Thyme shouldn’t be vaped any higher than 150° C.

    16. Sage: Various cultures believe sage to have spiritual cleansing properties. It can supposedly improve brain function and digestion when vaporized. Sage is suitable to be vaped at 190° C.

    17. St. John’s wort: This herb has been used as a homeopathic remedy for depression. St. John’s wort is normally taken in capsule form but can also be vaped at 150° C.

    18. Tobacco: Vaping tobacco is another way to consume tobacco while avoiding the hazards of combustion. Vaping e-juice is a more popular approach, but it’s still possible to vaporize tobacco at 150° C.

    19. Valerian: This root has been used as a sleep aid, to relieve pain and reduce stress. When vaped, it produces a similar effect to lavender. It vaporizes best at 150° C.

    20. Yerba mate: Most popular for teas and beverages. It has been used for vaping and is said to increase energy levels and improve overall mood. Yerba mate should ideally be vaporized at 150° C.

As you can see both sources sometimes list significantly different temperatures for the same herb so obviously this can't be taken as hard science and some personal experimentation will be required.

And finally the most comprehensive list taken from Azarius, at the bottom they included the vaping temperatures from the most common cannabinoids as well:

Keep in mind that azarius is a smartshop that sells various psychoactive herbs which means that some of the herbs listed below do have psychoactive properties, this information is for research purposes only and I (Cleargreen), the plagiarizer of this information, cannot be held responsible for any damages that might occur when vaping the herbs below.

HERBS AND THE APPROPRIATE VAPORIZING TEMPERATURES
Nip it in the bud, try something new...Vaporizing is simply a healthy substitute for combustion and so not just something that's confined to the great green grass... These herbs have a long history of being smoked by many different tribesmen and so it's not restricted to vaporization alone, though we should count ourselves lucky that we have the opportunity to conduct a healthier lifestyle.

The list below is intended for inspiration and the temperatures indicated are also something to experiment with, for not everyone enjoys the same potency…

Temperatures over 230°C are not recommended.

    MEDICINAL USERS PAY ATTENTION!
The temperature at which you set your vaporizer is of big influence to the effects that you can get from it. There are a huge amount of active compounds in cannabis with different effects, which need different temperatures to become effective. In general, the temperature range of 170 - 200°C is ideal for cannabis. Depending on the vaporizer you should experiment with this range to get your preferred effect. 210°C is nowadays considered the best balance between efficient evaporation of terpenes and cannabinoids and smoothness of the vapour, although lower temperatures are seen as healthier.

    DELTA-9-THC
    Temperature: 157°C
Effect: Gives the smoker a classic "high" effect.
Medical: Analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-emetic (agent against nausea) and euphoriant.

    CBD (CANNABIDINOL)
    Temperature: 160-180°C
Effect: Provides a mental sense of well-being and ease.
Medical: Anxiolytic, analgesic, antipsychotic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antispasmodic.

    CBN (CANNABINOL)
    Temperature: 185°C
Effect: A complex compound which acts as an Oxidization Breakdown Product
    Medical: Sedative and antibiotic.

    CBC (CANNABICHROMENE)
Temperature: 220°C (beware, in many vaporizers this could lead to combustion because the chamber will become too hot.)
Effect: Collaborates with THC to increase euphoria. It has a strong resemblance to CBD.
    Medical: Anti-inflammatory, antibiotic and anti-fungal.

    CBG (CANNABIGEROL)
    Temperature: 220°C
Effect: The first cannabinoid to be produced by the cannabis plant. It is mostly sleep-inducing, but not psychoactive.
Medical: Anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, antifungal and hypotensive.

    THCV (TETRAHYDRO-CANNABIVARIN)
    Temperature: 220°C
Effect: Influences the speed at which the effect kicks in. Mostly African and Asian strains will have a higher THCV value. The smell that is released during consumption is correlated to this.
    Medical: Analgesic and euphoriant.

I've been trying out vaping different stuff, not just weed. I've given mint and chamomile a shot. They're nice, kind of soothing, and make a change. I haven't tried vaping something like spinach though – that's a new one to me!

I found this cool site with Vape tools, where I get my vaping stuff now. They have a lot of choices. I got these disposable pods called Lost Mary MO5000 20mg there. My go-to flavor is Blueberry Sour Raspberry. It's sweet but also a bit sharp, which I love. It's way better than the usual stuff I vape. It's nice to mix things up a bit with different flavors.
