The European Union is the chamber of the lost and forgotten. They have forgotten that the freedom they sell us was ours in the first place and we gave it to them by fighting hitler . They have forgotten their would be no nato with us . They have forgotten the great loss our nation had in the war . To provide safety and security for Europe that they are now charging us for something we gave them.

I vote because i can and if I don't, I don't feel like I have the right to complain because I didn't use my voice or vote in the first place

Poor turnouts equals serves you right.

Not sure Australia has it right by making it mandatory BUT that's far superior to apathy.

MPs know precisely which social groups, locations and populations vote so if you dont vote, dont be surprised if manifestos and policy completely disregard you. Why as a party or MP waste your time and energy on those not interested.

We get the MPs we deserve

I agree with the above ^^^^^
The only thing I don't really agree with is the seat voting policy it should be more like the referendum one vote one voice.

Yeah agree, proportional representation can work better but first past the post still works if we cast our votes. PR has its shortfalls too though.

Far too many MPs, could easily run with 300-400. Lets not mention the other house.

Lets just not have 16 years olds have the vote just to cancel Brexit ffs

I'm all for mandatory voting so long as they also include a tick box for no confidence in any of the candidates...

Oh for sure. Spoiled votes are legitimate votes and over time, the more we all take responsibility, the more we hold those to their responsibility, the more the charlatans get replaced by those you would be happy to vote for.
