    Default Boveda packs

Hey everyone, so nearly every grow aside from my previous 2 I’ve used boveda 62% packs in my jars to cure. Until now I’ve not really noticed anything questionable but I’ve noticed when I’ve picked out a bud for a smoke when I burp the buds seem to feel pretty wet again, even though they were over dried in the first place. The buds aren’t grinding properly either, most of it stays in the top part of my grinder. Unless I leave it out for an hour and let it dry out, then it goes through beautifully. So does anyone else use boveda packs? If so do you keep them in during the whole curing process? Because it seems I’ve been doing something wrong

Ive just started using them with my buds from the last grow. I didnt use them during the first few weeks of curing though, just burped the jars, added them later just to keep the buds at 62% and have had no issues for the 2-3 months they've been in there since, hasnt affected the taste at all either.

The RH without the pack was 45-50% slightly over dried because I left a window open in the drying area (complete twat I am) with the pack it’s between 60-65% on the hygrometer I used

You see I feel like I should take it out at some points, because how can I draw moisture from the middle of my buds outwards when their constantly in a 60-65% environment. Perhaps I should’ve waited a week or two like you did, let the excess water leave and then add em

I use boveda packs and agree when first pulled out its smokeable but bit wetter than I'd like. I find they do the job though for curing and have left them in the jar for weeks with no issue. I tend to keep them in the jars for first two weeks then take it out and only burp they get is when I reach in for a zoot.

I feel like this is another one of those choices that come down to personal choice and it might just mean you personally find it a little too humid for your taste. Try out the 58% packs and see if that suits you better

I’ll have to have a look at the other pack mate, honestly didn’t know boveda made one so close to the 62% one

Yeah bud, try it out..that percentage might be the one that suits you, I know of others who have never been happy with 62% and settled nicely on the 58% packs

Hey guys, just found this stuff "Planet Waves Humidipak Automatic Humidity Control System for Guitar" on Amazon that keeps the environment at 45-50%. Is there room for Other Creative Usage?

I would say 45-50% is too low to cure, I’d guess it would have to be between 55-65 to be at its optimum
