Question Best PC fan thermostat for PC/micro grows.

    Hey all,

Simple question. I'm hunting for the best thermostatic PC fan controller, problem is I'm looking for one that acts like a full "normal
    " fan controller.

I want the PC fans to be still running (sucking through the filter) even though the set temperature has been reached? does such a controller exist?
Most, if not all, I've seen turn off once a set temp has been reached, obviously we don't want this.

I've seen two controllers on Ebay - If you search for W1209 and xy-t01 controller perhaps this will do what I want using one of the programmable settings?

It must also run via the mains or even USB - I'm not using a PSU in my build.

Any advice guys? Been looking for weeks

    with thanks

    New PC Build coming soon

    This will do it

    Ebay 223445633676 and
    262868515931

It will switch between 12v and which ever voltage you set on that buck converter.

So I'd need to buy both items G yeah?

The first product you linked is near enough the same, if not the same as the one I linked to by the look of it.... The one you linked will definitely leave the fans on (user defined?) once the set temp has been reached?

    thanks matey

Ive used the very same to in my grow cupboard.

Yeah can get that controller minus the case for around £2

Set your min speed with that converter ( i used something like 5-7volts), when temp hits threshold, relay clicks over to 12v. Can even set hysteresis

    I'd get it with case.

I mean will I have to buy the buck converter also? not just the controller with/without case??

Sweet. Actually how does that buck converter work? Is the initial setup done on the controller and the buck converter just sets the minimum volts to keep the pc fans running when the controller turns off?
