Default I believe i have stem rot, help and advice needed please.

Over the last week i have noticed something on one of my plants near the base of the stem and it has gotten worse, to a point where it has affected the bottom branches and they have basically dropped off the plant, after a quick search of the forum i believe i have stem rot!

Im UK based and have been growing on & off the last 9 years with a "constant" grow the last 5 years, this is the 1st time i've had this problem is it savable? any help and advice would be greatly appreciated thanks, grow details below.

Soil or hydro or coco: Re-used Coco
    Strain: Grapefruit(freebie seed from Attitude)
    Photo or Auto: Photo
plant age: Planted @20th Dec, vegged until @20th Feb and started flowering @5th March
    pot size: 15ltr air pots
has it been re-potted? and when?: Sometime in Jan from 1ltr normal pots to 15ltr air pots
Air temps (max min): @30-35 & 7-10 degrees Celsius
humidity: @50-60% via dehumidifier with auto on/off to keep it a constant %
lighting type and wattage (hps, led, cfl): 600w hps
Light schedule: 12/12 off during the night
Feed schedule and nutes (for hydro and coco): At the moment i water every 2 days with Canna Cannazyn 5ml, Growers Ark Coco bloom A&B 6ml per 2lt bottle and the plant is on 1.5x 2ltr bottles, next week il be adding small amounts of ATA PK 13-14 and Bcuzz coco bloom stimulator to the mix.

How does the runoff look? Are you checking PH in and PH out? EC in and EC out?

Hi timmy77, to me that does indeed look like rot, I've personally never dealt with it before on a cannabis plant (have seen this on other plants) and not sure if there is actually anything that you can do, 99.9% sure it can't be 'cured', however I would think it depends on how badly rotted it is and how much it will effect the plant long term. Hope someone with some knowledge on this swings round to help you out mate.

tbh looks more like mold from lack of airflow to me,what does a light scrape of the area produce?..does it "wipe" off if you rub finger on it etc.

youve definately got or had airflow problems under her skirt, looks quite manky under there, could do with some light thinning etc.

new growth doesnt look that bad to me,ive had stem rot couple o times and basically plant leant over, stem went squishy brown and she "insta-died",yours still looks alive to me.

pic of bottom of her means little to me apart from she looks to be a bit salted up,but im organic only, so sharp contrasts are inevitable i spose so ignore me on that.

thin her out a bit, bottom upwards, get some air in there and monitor any changes i guess.shes not dead till shes fell over and smells bad is my motto..

I would get that plant away from all other plants!!! ASAP before any of those mold spores spred to any other plants,
Like said before probly from lack of air movement.

Wipe the stem with a antibacterial solution and as above get better airflow to the plant

Thanks, yes thinking about it the plant is one of the plants at the back of my room and there is another big plant between this plant and the main fan, i do have a 6" fan blowing over the top of the back plants and i also have a spare 6" fan i can add in the room so its blowing on the lower part of the plants.

The black area has a similar feel to Balsa wood maybe not quite as soft and when i ran my finger over the area it wasnt slimey.

Taking the bottom pic on my own was a ball ache lol, i wasnt sure if the white bits were fungi/mold etc hence including the pic.

I got it out the room but it either stays out and gets the chop or i try and save it and put it back in there :/

Im not sure what i got that i can use the only "anti" things i have are Pyrethium 5EC, Isopropanol or 1st aid antiseptic spray, but are any of these things any good?

Do you have any suggestions for a antibacterial solution? as googling it comes up with all sorts!

Once wiped over with a antibacterial solution would encasing the area with say a plastic cup with the bottom taken out and split up the side so you can fit it around the stem be a good idea to stop the fan spreading the spores!?

My main concerns are will it spread to the others in the room and has it had it full stop, as it is very slow at taking its water/nutes and the leaves are yellowing up quite fast, it is also about 12" shorter than the rest but that might just be the genetics, the plant was the same height as the others until the stem rot appeared! in total i have 9 plants which 5 inc this one are Photo and the other 4 are Autos in my veg tent, so if i have to chop it i might throw another auto in time depending.

Yes i was gonna say that also. i would get just standard anti bacterial hand gel 99.9% and just paint it on there with a brush. Monitor it and expect the dead tissue to look worse in time. The gel will dry it out and kill any spores mold or fungal. I successfully killed off budrot (botrytis) with this method. For the sake of a quid i reckon you can save her mate
