Default Does anyone plug in within the tent?

Getting cables from inside the tent to my plug sockets is a pain in the ass so I'm thinking of either putting an extension lead like the one below inside my little tent... Probably hanging in the back corner. Or I could try to fit a grommet type thing in a more convenient place in the tent for wires to go through and then I'll have an extension lead just outside in a place I can get to easier.

1st option would be easier, just dunno if it's safe when humidity can get high and even dripping if I accidentally have the humidifier set too high.

Otherwise I need to work out a way of adding a neat hole, preferably lightproof for cables.

Anyone else have these concerns or am I worrying for nothing?

I'm all for spending if it will give me yield difference, but fuck health and safety ,health and safety replaced common sense ,,if there's a hole and you fall down it surly it's your fault ...just don't water my plugs and I'm golden

You're a nutter Sadface.. Safety first bro!!

I did find some waterproof rated extension leads Silkadin, I'm a firm believer in 'better to be safe than sorry' but how these cope with high humidity I'm not entirely sure of...however if you're able to use them outside then should be good.

I have all plugs going to extension lead outside the tent guess it's just preference only problem with that is some wires ain't long enough and it's a pain at times, both my fans wires are short and I struggle to get them positioned right so I'm extending them which is pretty easy to do, I could do with positioning my own hole for wires like you said i have just never thought about doing it

Cool, that's in the tent right mate? Would you ever worry if your humidity ever hit 90 percent? I only ask cause I fooked up and left my humidifier on high for a few hours and my fans were dripping wet : /

I'm not opposed to cutting another hole, just not sure what I'd use to keep it tight n neat. I used spigots for the duct holes I cut, but need a couple flat rings ideally that I can bolt onto the tent wall from either side and then cut out the middle for plugs. Then maybe a makeshift flap over it for the light. Just dunno what I should be looking for... Giant washers didn't come up with what I hoped on Google lol

Yeah, a few of my fans struggle to reach. My tents tucked under my workbench and plug sockets right at the back with a cupboard wall also getting in the way lol. Everytime I have to change a bit of equipment I have to haul everything out of the cupboard, remove the false back and lie inside the cupboard trying to work out what plug does what in the dark lol

Its only copper and brass Silk. Eventually they may corrode or oxidise but wont happen for a long time. The drivers are ip67 and state damp conditions ok.

If you want, use storm proof stuff but thats for protecting ingress (IP) of water and dust.

Just make sure rcd is on your circuit.
