    Default 48 hours darkness

Hey guys, so I've currently got 6 auto's on the go. They are coming up to 11 weeks soon, and I've been flushing 5 of them since week 9.

The 6th plant is in great health but it was slower to flower so I'm gonna give it 2 weeks longer than the other 5.

However, I want to give the 5 plants 2 days of darkness before I chop, to increase resin production. It seems my best option logistically would be to just give the tent 2 days of darkness, including my healthy 11 week old plant (which I plan to flush until 13 weeks). Would this be a problem? I wouldn't want to shock this nice plant and hermie it at the last hurdle is all

Oh and by the way, the I've been on a 24h light schedule this whole grow

Why do you think that 2 days in the dark would increase resin production?

Maybe it's an old wives tale but I'd heard that the plants make a last push (perhaps to attract a mate). And I think I'd seen someone mention it in a journal recently.

But if you guys think it's bs, i might just leave it out (Y)

TBH, having the light on for those 48hrs would do more for trich production....

For photo-flowering plants, I think there is reasoning behind it, and I use it, then again I am a padawan myself. The theory is that shorter days make the plant think winter is coming on fast, and must churn out more resin; and as I recall in the dark, water inside the plant gets shifted over to the roots, so less water in the buds, quicker drying. But would that slow down trichome production? I have no idea.

For Autoflowering plants, they go by age, presumably some telomeres thing and don't give two toots to length of day (within reasonable parameters).

So giving an auto plant the 48 hours of darkness is probably of negative effect.

It’s a myth imo, if I was to try anything it would be cold weather or even a late pest attack tbh that’s when they create/trigger secondary metabolites(terpenes thc etc) that brings this on
