Morning to ya! It's been a while for me also. I got a birthday wish from this site but i couldn't remember my password, so i made a new one. Not even sure if I'm using this correctly, but I too am starting the grow season out here in WA's Columbia basin. I work in the professional cannabis industry as an Ag manager. We produce cheap, low labor, high quality organic certified namebrand cannabis for the recreational market.
My mission here, is to get a little more insight into soil biology. We grow in the native soil, which is highly rich with potassium and mostly consists of volcanic ash and clay. Test results last season showed roughly 2% organic matter. Prior to us farming this land, it was a dry-land wheat operation. In the past, we have had pathogen flare ups, verticillium, rhizoctonia, which are natural to this soil. Using organic, there really is no curative measure to inject into the root zone, so its a constant battle to keep the upper hand over these soil borne diseases. Compost tea has probably been our biggest help, next would of course be preventive bio fungicides, like PVent for example.
Any info would help, cover crop, microbe, bio stimulants. I hope I'm using this properly, because i couldn't figure out Reddit haa
Thanks loads!!
