Default Answered: Coco Run off EC and meaning

    Hey All,

Quick one (hopefully!). 5l fabric pots, coco/perlite 60/40ish (bit much I know!). I have been feeding 2.5litres once a day, day 1 - with nutes, day 2 - with nutes, day 3 - water. PH 5.7-5.9. Today is the second day just fed with EC 1.1 and run off is 1.4.

So.... guessing cap on. I could feed them less (0.9?) as they are not using up all the nutrients? Reasoning, EC wouldn't get higher if they were eating it all. Plants seem happy though!

  2. "You are doing this all wrong mate....

Every day you should be feeding the plants to approx 10% run off...

You are correct that you are feeding too high, flush the pots & start again at 50% feed "

It may be easier, on this occasion, to take the plants to the water

.... I wish I hadn't rushed off now I hate smoking sometimes, both common sense and math go straight out the window!

All done (Maximum Effort!). I need a better way of measuring/estimating the run off. Thanks for your help though. Not sure if I am using this in the right way (never been cool :P). Mon the talk!
