    Default Postal / Courier services

    Hi,

Has anyone any thoughts or experiences on ordering online from companies in the UK and EU. I guess most home growers follow the no sell, no smell and no tell, I certainly do. But when you order on line you are effectively telling the payment processor, grow shop and delivery company. Ideally I do not want to leave a paper trail that could come back to bite me (historically when prohibitions are being threatened the state often reacts with a bit of a clampdown) and I can recall reading about a national delivery company being pressured by the Police to provide names and address, which they did to their shame, and obviously busts were made. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.
    Regards

Worst thing ordering 'our stuff' online is that most couriers could not one fuck give...they pack so many parcels into their vans (paid per item) that often packaging & occasionally the item inside gets damaged

Last thing you want is your new grow items openly on display as they are delivered by the courier with ripped packaging...plus it adds to the paranoia that some one ripped it on purpose to see whats in there...

I now go to my not so local hydro shop

I do that as well. Keep things that are gardening related to generic brands where possible.

My only paranoia about that would be getting a pull on the way home. Yeah, the 10" Rhino is for the bathroom extractor officer - family of curry lovers

    Thanks everyone,
I thought it was just me being super paranoid. When I bought my first tent and equipment the grow shop thought I was mad carrying it all home on public transport and paying by cash. Don't take the michael but I didn't even take my phone with me and paid for the train tickets in cash.
I'm just sorting out another set up so this has convinced me to go as before, just hope the grow shop can break the tent down into two easier to carry loads.
    Regards

what if some smart arse cop takes car numbers coming and going from the shop, or some smart arse scallies doing the same then follow you home, I have bought seeds and all my feed and equipment online for about 15 years never had a problem.

Some wanker from Hermes did that to me when I got my first HPS kit, it was some off brand magnetic ballast and wing reflector. Took em a few days to deliver it, saying it was too big for their vans... it finally got delivered and it was wrecked, the box was falling apart. Opened it in the living room with the courier at the door (he was not pleased). Everything looked fine except the ballast had a metal casing which was dented to hell, I realised there was nothing I could do/say to the courier if it didn’t work so I said it was fine and sent him on his way... it all worked, thank god. But I think if I had selected the 600w Hps bulb to come with it things would’ve been a bit different.
Since that delivery I refuse to buy anything breakable/expensive if I know Hermes are delivering it.

I wouldn’t think that you have too much to worry about, unless your buying 200 odd HPS kits then you might show up on someone’s radar. If your worried try ordering some bits online and going into a hydro shop for others, scatters your trail a bit and no one can prove you ever owned the full set up unless someone sees it lol
