My current CD/DVD burner cost about a tenner & I've only really used it to install the operating system on my PC

Same as that, top of the range pioneer jobbie, £10 off Feebay and that was with postage inc.

I've used it to twice...once to install Win 7 and one to burn the ISO to install Win 7

Even the blu-ray drives are now just about 50 or so quids each. Tempting, but if watching blu ray discs through one mean they eventually become region locked, I am not going to bother.

Regarding hooking up a PC Case fan to a 12V transformer, just off on a tangent Noctua makes 5V fans so many modern phone chargers would work.

A member on this forum (sorry, forgotten who!) had once suggested to use a motorcycle charger for the 12V fans. I do that, and it drives the fan much better than the old router transformer.

There are ways around region lock...

I D/L everything I watch...no need for any seperate optical drives etc. Blu ray, Dolby Pro logic without the worry of damaged discs or player

Not always easy for the domestic person though...

"Man on the moon", that's the forum member that suggested a bike charger, Thanks, wherever you are.
