Hi fellow growers!
This is my first post and first grow.
My plants are just about 4 weeks old. (RoyalAk - auto)
planted in WILMA system. (8pot)
In the last few days, I started noticing some small orange spots on the very bottom leaves.
Also on the very bottom of the stem - I am seeing some strange white dots. (both of the "problems" seen on the photos attached)
Could this be a calcium deficiency // Or the opposite - excess of calcium? The tap water I am using seems to have plenty of calcium -
the white stuff on the pebbles, it seems to be a layer of calcium deposit - that shows up just by washing the pebbles with tap water and afterwards drying them.
At the same time, EC of the tap water is only 0,1 (about 50 ppm) - could my water contain excess of calcium but not much of other minerals?
I am really baffled and would be very grateful if any of you experts could help a novice.
Should I worry about it or am I overreacting?
Now for my setup:
I am using 20-hour light cycle. (LED)
WILMA 8 pot system - hydro.
Nutrients GHE Flora Trio -
Growing Phase
- Micro - 1,2 mL/L
- Gro - 1,8 mL/L
- Bloom - 0,6 mL/L
- EC (ms) 1,3 - 1,8 (when EC low - adding GHE gro)
To lower pH, I have been using GHE Down (to get to 5,5 - 6,5 // target 5,9)
It is phosphoric / nitric acid based, I have read somewhere to use nitric acid pH down.
(will try this)
2 AirStones inside the tank
1 Aquarium heater inside the tank (68°F // 20°C)
2 small fans just above the plants
1 Outlet Vent (targeting 40%-60% humidity in the tent)
Watering
Started with 15 minutes every 3 hours - and steadily increased to 45 minutes every 2 hours.
(watering when lights on)
I would appreceate any criticism and recommendations.
(or any questions)
Cheers!
