Default New to forum No stranger to growing

Ello everyone been reading and researching online and long story short .. here I am
Been growing for a few years under both Cfl. Mh and hps
Preferably I'd call myself a hydro grower but like most I started out with soil
I have recently purchased 1000w led panel from the online auction site for around 40pounds delivered. They are the white Chinese type. I dont know if they are any good tho as Google directs me to brand named panels. Mines unbranded?
I'm going to do a journal on my grow and any led heads around with familiar lights or experience of them I'd love to hear from you.
    Thanks

Get yourself A Watt Tester, and see what wattage those light are pulling. JAS

    Thanks for the welcome
How do I get a watt tester and what do I do to see what the panel draws?
Bare with me the only thing I know about electric digits is the keypad readouts
I'm trying to get a picture of the panel up but seems like I hit a brick wall?
It has a label on the upper side of the panel beside the 3 prong lead
They seem rugged enough for the money imo
Without scuding myself here but all seems ok when I tested it before giving feedback

    It looks something like this Cannabug ;

So you plug that into the wall, then plug the light into that watt tester, very simple

Many LED's state much higher wattages than they are actually pulling from the wall, so with one of these, they show you the true wattage the light will be pulling.

A wattmeter typically plugs into the wall, and you plug whatever you are measuring into it. The meter will then tell you the actual wattage or amperage that you are drawing, and then you eith convert it for 110/220v or it does it automatic. It helps to detect bullshit claims with LEDs, since there is no standard for their power. The LED might be advertised as a 1000w unit, but if it only draws 200 watts and the most efficient LED is 50% (for figuring purposes only), then the light output should only be about 400 watts of equivalent light. To get 1000w of light from a 200 watt LED, the LED would need to be 500% higher efficiency than the MH/HPS that they are being compared to.
Hope that wasn't too confusing, but the watt meter just gives an accurate idea of the power being used by an electrical device.

Thanks for the heads up on the meter. I'll definitely be getting one soon.
That would explain it G. I'll have a whirl round and comment on some stuff then I'll get a pic up of this panel
