Am going away for a week & ill be soaking my pots as much as i can before i go. Ive also got those bulb things that you fill with water & plug them into the soil, they hold 500ml & ill put a couple in each pot (pots are 10L). I got auto's which are on about day 40 atm. Am thinking they should be ok & if they do dry out they should bounce back ok after I'm back ?

    thanks for any help

  2. "you can make up a simple drip feed by getting a large empty plastic bottle .... pierce a SMALL hole in the top ... fll the bottle with water/feed then hang it upside down above the soil .... nothing will leak out till you gently unscrew the lid slightly will drip feed and keep going to get a constant thin flow ,,,, adjust it to whatever flow you think is right and jobs a goodun "

Hey am no expert at all but there's been times in my current grow(first timer) where I've had to give them dry periods as I have autos n femz in soil and have both had 6-7 day dry periods an probably could have gone longer but I think it all depends on heat, temp, conditions ect but I'd say your probably good to leave them a week mate

Is it soil or coco your in? If its soil youl be fine....coco might be an issue.

But are you leaving light, fans, carbon filter and extraction fan on all week without any1 checking on it while you away?
That would be the scary thing for me.

Ok cheers the help. I have to go so i got no choice! Yes they are in soil. Luckily I have cobs in there so leaving them unattended for a week won't be as bad as having HPS.

Was thinking also maybe I could leave them sitting in a bit of water in the trays underneath them, I know this isn't usually good practice, but...? Looks like we got a heatwave coming next week here so ill turn my extraction right up too.

    Fingers crossed

A lot depends on the size of the plants. I don't see any harm in drenching them, then leaving a small amount of water in a catch basin...enough for a day. This should give you a little margin of error. Leaving a little bit of water once or twice won't harm anything as long as the roots get a chance to get air again, hopefully in a day. During flowering, mine take about a gallon per day, but when fairly small (less than a month) they only need watered once a week in 5 gallon buckets.
