Default How Big Are Your Seeds? Getting Smaller Over the Years?

I have a similar thread o another site, but I wanted to see if things were different across the pond.
Many years ago, like 20-30, the seeds were notably biger. Even the seeds from the Colombian and Mexican were bigger. Indica seeds were huge and frequently striped like a tiger. Nowadays, every seed that I get, regardless if it's a ativa, Indica, or a hybrid, the seeds are all pretty small.
Is this something getting bred into the genetics, or are the seed producers just not letting the buds/seeds fully mature. The seeds seem OK, they are just half the size of anything I am used to seeing. Even my old 30 yr old strain has big seeds compared to any one of the new ones... even the full Indicas! What's you take on the issue?

Early pollination makes a big diff to size of seeds
Instead of doing it earlier they are waiting now till plant is in a more fuller flower stage then pollinating to get more seeds
Than doing it around day 18/19 that would make big seeds

Also, more pollen that the plants pick's up has an effect, it makes more seeds, reason for them being smaller as well.

Now that sounds much more plausible then the timing of pollination to me and it's something we see with fruit trees as well where thinning out the fruit is a common practice to ensure the remaining fruits grow larger.

Although it is in conflict with some bud a friend recently gave me that was absolutely loaded with huge seeds. I'll have to ask him what exactly went down in his garden.
    The mystery continues...

So that would be like a twin babies are often smaller than single babies, but still bigger than triplets? Kinda makes sense.

What I have noticed is that the "tiger stripes" can come off. Turns out they are like a water slide decal, formed from some membrane from the inside of the calyx.

Color and striping varies per strain as well.
My SCBxDinamed cross for example were so pale and lacking striping that I doubt they were even viable and one of the other SCB crosses made at the same time had very dark seeds with loads of pattern going on (cant recall if it was the Northern Lights or the Cream&Cheese).
